Privacy Policy
Your data, your control. Here's exactly what we collect and why.

1. Information We Collect
- Account information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and a hashed version of your password. We never store plain-text passwords.
- Resume data: Your resume text is processed entirely in memory and is never stored. Scan results (score, feedback) are saved so you can review your history — but raw resume text is never logged or persisted beyond the analysis session.
- Usage data: We collect anonymous usage metrics (pages visited, features used) to improve the product. No personal data is tied to these metrics.
- Payment data: Payments are processed by Razorpay and Stripe. We never see or store your full card details. We only receive confirmation of successful payments.
- Cookies: Logged-in users receive an HttpOnly authentication cookie to maintain your session.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the ATS resume scanning service.
- To process payments and manage your subscription or credit balance.
- To send transactional emails (verification, password reset). We do not send marketing emails unless you opt in.
- To detect abuse and enforce rate limits.
3. Data Sharing
- We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.
- We share data only with: payment processors (Razorpay/Stripe) for billing, OpenAI for resume analysis (text is sent for processing but not stored by us), and hosting providers (Vercel, Railway, Neon) as necessary infrastructure.
4. Data Security
- All data in transit is encrypted via TLS/HTTPS.
- Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms (bcrypt).
- Database connections use SSL in production.
- We follow the principle of least privilege for all internal access.
5. Data Retention
- Resume data: Not stored. Processed in memory only.
- Account data: Retained until you delete your account.
- Scan history: Retained for logged-in users until account deletion.
- You can request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting support@resumescanner.space.
6. Your Rights
- You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data.
- You can export your scan history from the dashboard.
- You can delete your account at any time from Settings.

7. Changes to This Policy
- We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with the updated date. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance.
